Angina is the most common form of coronary heart disease (CHD) in the UK, with CHD being the leading cause of premature death in the UK.
CHD is responsible for just under 114,000 deaths each year, nearly all of which are the result of heart attacks.
Although nearly 260,000 people suffer heart attacks in the UK each year, death rates from CHD have been falling for the last 20 years or so.
