Servier Laboratories join the ABPI

The ABPI Board of Management have announced the new membership of Servier Laboratories.
Servier Laboratories Limited is the British subsidiary of the Servier Research Group, a leading French research based organisation specialising in ethical pharmaceuticals. Servier UK offers a range of products in a number of core therapeutic areas including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and is currently seeking a license for a new product for depression.
The ABPI is the trade association for more than 75 companies in the UK who research, develop and produce prescription medicines. Servier share ABPI’s mission to encourage innovative research and development and regularly invests more than 25% of its annual turnover into research and development of innovative treatments, supporting investment into technologies that encourage faster discovery, development and approval of new medicines.
Nigel Brooksby, President of the ABPI, commented:
‘The ABPI are pleased to announce the membership of Servier. The pharmaceutical industry is an integral element of the successful development of patient centred care. ABPI members have an important role to play in shaping and implementing healthcare policies.’
Participation by members in all aspects of the ABPI’s activities is an important feature of the Association and Servier will support the ABPI in identifying important industry issues through their representation on ABPI working groups and task forces.
