We aim to improve the experience of IT for all our customers, whilst increasing their capability by making IT simpler and easy to use, whilst balancing our costs.

We are always looking for ways to improve efficiency to benefit the Business through our systems.

Finally, it is of uppermost importance that we ensure the security and integrity of the Servier network.

Support

It is our job to provide and support the environment needed to allow each piece of computer equipment to work in an appropriate manner, and to give assistance on IT related issues when required.

Through our Helpdesk solution we provide support on a variety of IT related issues, ranging from such things as the setting up of user accounts, changing of access rights etc, to help with applications such as Word, Excel, to resolution of issues with databases and other complex systems. There are over three hundred separate software systems that we need to support and we currently deal with an average of seven hundred user support calls per month, in addition to the work we are constantly doing behind the scenes.

Development

The Development department design, prototype, build and unit test solutions to meet Servier’s needs.  We pride ourselves in both the quality and accuracy of our products and enjoy working with the many different people and departments of the company. 

We use a variety of tools to build our products, from Microsoft dot Net as our main development platform, to Oracle as our first choice in professional database storage.

Other tools include Business Objects as our Reports Writer and Microsoft SharePoint as our answer to the Intranet.

We specialise in building database systems similar to Orbit, our CRM application and “Thin Client” systems that work through Internet Explorer, both types of solution maximise flexibility and performance.

We work very closely with the business teams to ensure that all the solutions are not only built well, but work well too.  We rely heavily on the experience of the business team to provide solid and rigorous testing of our products.

Business Systems and Analytics

The Orbit Department was launched in 2002 to develop, implement and support Servier UK’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and its users. Since its launch, Orbit has evolved and is now used by numerous departments within Servier UK.

The collaboration between the different areas of IT reflects the department’s increasing involvement in providing new business systems and analytical solutions in addition to Orbit.

Our aim is to continually develop, improve and support our systems and users so that together we can fulfil the company’s business requirements.
